Into The Darkness...

“It is not those who only acknowledge darkness that change the world. No, it is those who walk directly into it

and bring light.”

Very recently...Last Saturday, in fact... I was lured into a Facebook conversation on a “hot button” topic. I really SHOULD know better than to wander off into these things. I should especially know better if politics are somewhat involved.

We hold the greatest gift ever given to humankind as believers. You don’t get more important than holding the knowledge of the keys to the Kingdom, and eternal life in your heart. Also, we should be speaking of the love of Jesus and His sacrifice for us to make that gift attainable to ALL! ! e 🙋🏼‍♀️over here not getting involved!

The conversation quickly turned to hate spewing. I still might have been over on the sidelines eating my pop corn watching it all unfold...but then “Jesus talk” started. Everyone was one upping their love for Christianity and the need to completely trying to hate Muslims into heaven. PEOPLE, that’s not possible!!!

Everyone was one upping their love for Christianity and the need to completely trying to hate Muslims into heaven. PEOPLE, that’s not possible!!! hat was the case, it could actually be said we were being out worked. We weren’t spreading the love of Jesus daily...we weren’t doing enough work in prisons...that we were called to love the unloveable. At that point someone said, “You voted for Hillary, didn’t you?! She’s a Muslim. You don’t understand the Bible. The Bible is no love story.” 😮Isn’t it? Didn’t Love bring Jesus to us? Didn’t Love be born of a virgin? Didn’t Love eat with the dirty, the sinful, the rejected? Didn’t Love keep Him on that tree? Didn’t it?

I’m going to offer a suggestion. What if we as Christians realized we’re all on the same team?🤷🏼‍♀️We all know there’s darkness in the world, and it comes in many forms. Why do we stand in that darkness and scream at EACH OTHER??? Is it because to actually confront the darkness, we’d have to pull off our house shoes, put down our tea, & step out from behind the computer? And maybe it would mean stepping onto less than desirable streets to share Jesus. Maybe it’s outside our “safety net”. Maybe the people in the darkness are too dirty, or too much unlike us...yet, we’re called. Called into the darkness with that eternal beacon...

Get out there and tell somebody! Be the light you’re called to be! Don’t waste your precious life standing in the darkness debating other Christians, because that’s where you’re comfortable! There’s work to be done!! And according to my “friends” in that afore mentioned feed...we are getting out worked!

We hold the truth like a sword of light! Wield it!!!

Go. Boldly. Into. The. Darkness. And. Shine.💡
